Christopher Columbus

Hello! My name is Christopher Columbus. When I was a little boy, I lived near the big, blue sea. I loved watching the tall ships sail away on amazing adventures. They looked so big and strong on the water. I would watch them until they were just tiny dots. I would dream about being the captain of my own ship. I wanted to sail across the sparkling water and discover new places.

When I grew up, a kind queen and king gave me three special ships to sail. They believed in my big dream. Their names were the Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa María. With my brave crew, I sailed west, across the giant Atlantic Ocean. The ocean was so big. We sailed for many, many days and nights. We saw the sun rise and the moon shine on the water, with only water all around us.

Then, one morning, a sailor shouted, “Land.”. Everyone cheered. We had found beautiful islands with warm sunshine and friendly people. It was a whole new world for people from my home. It was so exciting to see new trees and new animals. My journey helped connect different parts of the world. It was the start of many new adventures for everyone. I lived many more years, always remembering my big trip across the sea.
